First in Mainland: Taiwan Youth Leasing Shanghai Signs Contract for Public Rental Housing

China Taiwan Net, December 13th. The signing ceremony for the public rental housing of Shanghai Youth Rental City in Shanghai was held on December 12th. Taiwan Union Secretary-General Li Haiyong, Shanghai Taiwan Association President Zhang Jianzhen, and Shanghai Real Estate Deputy General Manager Zhu Zhenyu signed the agreement on behalf of the three parties. Nearly 200 people from the Taiwan Youth Representative, relevant industry players and the news media participated.

These batches of public rental housing are guaranteed housing provided by the government with policy support, limited construction standards and rent levels, and leased to qualified personnel. The first 300 units launched in the first phase come from Xinyue Apartment in Putuo District, Xinning Apartment in Xuhui District, Xinyi Apartment, Shanghai South Railway Station Public Rental Housing, Yaohua Riverside Apartment in Pudong New District, Xingu Meijia Garden in Minhang District, etc. The core area around the city's central ring, with diverse room types and complete configurations, provides convenience and service guarantee for Taiwanese youth living and working in Shanghai.

Deputy Director Li Xiaodong of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipality said that the launch of the municipal public rental housing project is a concrete action to implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 40th anniversary of the "Commission to the Compatriots of Taiwan", and also to further implement the issuance and publication of the Taiwan Affairs Office and other ministries and commissions. The specific actions of a series of "Third-Taiwan Benefit Measures", "26-Trade Measures", and Shanghai's "55-Taiwan Benefits" measures, in response to the "Taiwan Businessmen Gathering Together" held in Shanghai on December 5th. The actual action of Taiwanese businessmen participating in the Yangtze River Delta regional integration development with the theme of “Sharing New Opportunities Across the Straits”. Secretary Li Qiang said in his speech that Taiwanese businessmen participated in the regional integration development activities in the Yangtze River Delta. Shanghai will provide more convenience for Taiwan compatriots to study, work and live in Shanghai. Welcome more Taiwanese young people to come to Shanghai for employment, entrepreneurship, and dreams.

Taiwan Union Secretary-General Li Haiyong said that as a participating party committed to promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and for the benefit of the people on both sides of the strait, for many years, it has attached great importance to cross-strait youth exchanges and has long been concerned about the growth and development of Taiwanese youth on the mainland. In regard to the problem, we have always adhered to the implementation of the "cross-strait family" concept in "heart-to-heart, real-life", to promote the spiritual harmony of compatriots on both sides of the strait, and to promote cross-strait economic and social integration and development. After the previous tripartite negotiations, the first tripartite cooperation in renting a house was reached, which opened the "last mile" of the policy and paved the way for more Taiwanese young people coming to Shanghai to develop their dreams and gain happiness.

President Zhang Jianzhen of the Shanghai Taiwan Association expressed his gratitude to the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Municipality, the Shanghai Alliance of the Shanghai Alliance of the Taiwan Union and the Real Estate Group for their full support in helping Taiwan Youth to develop their future worries in Shanghai, giving them hope for the future.
