[Cross-strait Express Review No. 469]
The DPP has been leading the development of a new curriculum since it came to power. Its purpose is to forcibly "de-Chinese". It wants to put politics above education and use "Taiwan independence" education to brainwash students in Taiwan. Since the new syllabus was formally implemented in September this year, there have been constant disturbances and chaos. It finally came to the end of this semester, and the next trouble came again: the new semester begins in two months, but the second volume of high school history Textbooks have not yet been reviewed, and the school is facing the dilemma of having no textbooks in class.
The textbooks in Taiwan are of a four-trial system, but several versions of high school history textbooks currently being submitted are still in the second and third trials, and 80% of the content is still "Chinese history", which is inconsistent with the new curriculum of the DPP authorities. "East Asian history replaces Chinese history." In order to meet the new requirements of the DPP, the history of Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea has been temporarily added to the list, and the quality of the content is worrying.
The senior high school history syllabus previously revised by the Cai authorities forced the inclusion of "Chinese history" into "East Asian history", and the calculation was to "de-Chineseize". However, no new East Asian history professionals have been added to the book editing team, and the information is insufficient. Of course, the book is not well edited. If you cannot compile a book that conforms to "de-Chineseization," the DPP authorities will naturally not approve it. Faced with such a vague and unintelligible syllabus requirement, some editors stated that they could not compile such a textbook at all, saying that "there is a heart that jumped off the building."
The new semester is approaching. Although some booksellers have already sent books to teachers for selection, they have stated that they do not guarantee that "the current books are finalized" and that there may be major changes. What's even worse is that a certain version only sent Chapters 1 and 7 instead of "the entire book."
In the final analysis, such an irresponsible syllabus has made book writers, booksellers, teachers, students, and even the entire population victims. This is really in line with the original "four losers" prediction: "Book sellers cannot write, teachers cannot teach, Students cannot learn and exams cannot be taken . " In order to seek personal gain and disregard the facts, the DPP authorities abandon historical curriculum reforms and textbooks, and deliberately put politics above education. Such a poison for the younger generation of Taiwan will certainly be rejected by history. (Zhang Yajing of China Taiwan Net)
