[Cross-strait Express Comment 494]
In November, Taiwan ’s civil aviation authority expressed a clear rejection of Taiwan businessmen ’s request for the extension of overtime during the Spring Festival in 2020.
In December, the Taiwan authorities once again said "no" to the request for charter flights for voting by Taiwan compatriots and refused to provide convenience to them.
So, how can the DPP be so afraid of the return of Taiwan compatriots from the mainland?
Everyone knows that the Spring Festival next year is earlier than usual, January 24 is New Year's Eve; and in Taiwan, January 11 is also the polling day for the new regional leader election. These two days are very important for the Taiwan compatriots who are working hard on the mainland. They hope that they will be "at home" at these two important moments. However, the two days are too close. If there is a need for two consecutive round trips, the economic burden on Taiwan compatriots will be greater. This is the reason why the Taiwan Enterprise Federation first negotiated the cross-strait airlines' proposal of "voting and congratulating Chinese New Year tickets" as early as September.
According to cross-strait aviation industry sources, a total of 12 airlines participated in the "Vote for New Year's Concession Tickets" program. The most favorable price was 10 mainland companies; Taiwan Airlines and Evergreen used the "Double 11" name for promotions, but The ticketing date ends on November 12th, so the discount schemes for these two Taiwan Airlines have ended. Seeing that the polling day is getting closer and the concessionary tickets have been sold out, the DPP authorities, like the last time they refused to extend the Spring Festival overtime flight, pressed the stop button again.
The compatriots in Taiwan who have the demand for "voting charter flights" simply want to return to Taiwan to vote and enjoy their rights, and to be reunited and have a good Spring Festival. Such a simple and simple wish has been repeatedly and repeatedly stirred into the quagmire of political calculations by the DPP authorities, whose election interests are paramount. The reason is as stated in the Taiwanese "Wang Pao" article: The refusal of the Taiwan authorities to provide charter flights to mainland Taiwanese businessmen is difficult to dispel the political considerations behind Lenovo, that is, Taiwanese businessmen are generally "investing in blue but not green".
So, only those who support the DPP are entitled to "democracy"? Should people who disagree with DPP politics be ignored? The DPP has thus suppressed the Taiwanese people who support the peaceful development of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, so that they usually talk about their "democracy" and "human rights" when they brag about themselves, all of which have become international jokes.
It was the incumbent duty of the Taiwan authorities to allow the majority of Taiwan compatriots living on the mainland to return to Taiwan to vote, but now it has become a "difficult Shu". The deeper the political calculations of the DPP authorities, the more the interests of Taiwan compatriots will be damaged. If you want to use these tricks to cut the natural connection between the two sides of the strait, it is impossible to succeed! (Chief Commentator of China Taiwan Net: Zhao Jing)
