China Taiwan Net, December 24. According to the website of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, in order to meet the travel needs of cross-strait passengers, especially the needs of Taiwan compatriots to return home, the cross-strait aviation authorities have recently confirmed the overtime matters and specific arrangements for the 2020 Spring Festival:
The two sides agreed that cross-strait airlines could arrange for Chinese New Year overtime during January 11-February 8, 2020. In order to meet the needs of the people and airlines on both sides of the strait, the total amount of overtime is not limited. Taking into account the constraints of mainland airspace resources, there are only upper limits for some busy airports in the mainland, that is, Beijing does not arrange overtime for all parties, Shanghai Pudong 147, Guangzhou 9, Shenzhen 23, and Hangzhou 17.
Both parties plan to approve all overtime plans no later than December 31, 2019 to facilitate traveller booking and arrangement. Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Taipei Songshan Airport are not open for cross-strait work during the Spring Festival. Airlines that originally operated flights to and from Songshan Airport can arrange charter flights to Taoyuan Airport.
Adhering to the principle of serving passengers, especially to meet the needs of the majority of Taiwanese compatriots, the two sides will fully protect the cross-strait Spring Festival overtime arrangements for all airlines, and there will be no additional restrictions on airlines' application for compliance with this plan.
Taking into account the market demand, the airlines of the two sides will arrange part of the overtime during January 9-10, so that the majority of Taiwan compatriots can return home smoothly. (China Taiwan Net Jia Ruolan)
