Marine Association's Office in Australia welcomes visiting delegation
The visiting group visited the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou (from China Taiwan Net)
China Taiwan Net, December 7 (Special correspondent Wu Tong) To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau, a group of 15 leaders and celebrities from the Washington region in the United States and Taiwan came to Macau, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen on December 2-7 Visits and exchanges in other places. The delegation visited the memorial venues, toured the city landscape, and visited well-known enterprises along the way. They saw the development and progress of the mainland of the motherland and the prosperity and stability of Macao's society. The members were greatly encouraged and proud.
The head of the delegation, Shao Guoguo, was born in Hong Kong. He stated that he has always been concerned about the development of Hong Kong and Macao overseas, but he heard nothing. This time he came back and saw the truth. Macau is now socially stable, economically prosperous, and the people live and work. It works, it works, it wins the hearts of the people. The current situation in Hong Kong is worrying. He is firmly opposed to the US government's interference in Hong Kong affairs and hopes that Hong Kong will resume prosperity and stability as soon as possible.
What the consultants of the delegation meant was the government official of the Portuguese and Australian authorities. He said that Macao's economy was backward and Macao people were often looked down upon. In the 20 years since the return, with the support of the mainland of the motherland, Macao has achieved rapid development and GDP per capita has ranked second in the world. It is simply unthinkable that I believe that Macau will be better in the future.
Rao Shiyong, a member of the delegation, was very impressed with the souvenirs sent by the provinces and cities of the Museum of Congratulations to Macao's return to the motherland. He hoped that the two sides of the Straits will be peacefully reunified at an early date and that they can see the souvenirs sent by Taiwan in the museum.
The members said that the nation is strong, the nation is rejuvenated, and the people are happy. The overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese will be hard and will not be bullied. This is their "Chinese dream". After returning, they will share what they have seen and heard with American folks. With friends from all walks of life, we will continue to unite and contribute to the peaceful reunification of the motherland in the future.
The event was supported by the Chinese Embassy in the United States, the Taiwan Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao, the Taiwan Office of the Guangdong Province and related cities, and the Macao Special Administrative Region Office of the Cross-Strait Relations Association.
